Germ of the Month - April 2005

We hope you are now aware of Regent Medical and our commitment to providing issue-driven product safety solutions to healthcare practitioners. Regent Medical is proud to represent what we believe continues to be the finest antimicrobial product on the market today, Hibiclens ® .

This month, as part of our Hibigeebie campaign, we would like to introduce you to Sid, ( Pseudomonas aeruginosa ). While he typically likes to lurk in dark, wet spaces (even fresh cut flowers in a patient's room) we wanted to expose him, as you know him. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is primarily a nosocomial pathogen . According to the CDC, the overall incidence of P. aeruginosa infections in US hospitals averages about 0.4 percent (4 per 1000 discharges), and the bacterium is the fourth most commonly isolated nosocomial pathogen accounting for 10.1 percent of all hospital-acquired infections.1

Our reason for all that we do is to provide you with the very best in product and support. We look forward to hearing from you about our Hibigeebie campaign. And in May, our next little one, Staphon, will be coming your way. (Only on paper, we assure you!)
